With this site, you will be able to read about my take on Lincoln's Poetry as it pertains to the verses he picked for each day. There's a small book with poetry for each day alongside scripture Lincoln chose to help him cope.
There's no getting around the facts. & the brutal truth was that this nation, the USA, was divided in a way that is hard to put into words. As a learner & someone who strives to be objective as possible, disregarding needless modern day politics, I will not shy away from information pertaining to the South during the Civil War. For one, did you know that Florida, Alabama, Mississippi & Louisiana owned 93% of the world's cotton upon the onset of the Rebellion.
Though I do not aim to provide an encyclopedia of Civil War Information on this page, I do want it to be versatile & helpful in today's wild world of Information. I have ancestors who fought on both sides of the war from the 36th IN, 153rd PA, 78th PA, 60th OH, 34th IN, 38th NC, 34th NC, 4th Regiment VA, 14th VA & the 56th NC. Pictured to the left is my ancestor, William Grose. He was the Colonel of the 36th Indiana & later became a General in 1865.
If you want to look up some more of my ancestors, you can find them on the link below.

There will be many sections that deal with the Civil War. One of my favorites I look forward to sharing with you all is how I got involved, in 8th grade, with the Civil War & how a trip to Gettysburg & a book, "The Killer Angels" changed my life & career from then on. (1997)
